Dubai Police is once again turning heads—and this time, it’s not just for the supercars. As part of the UAE’s push for clean energy, Dubai Police adds more EVs to its patrol fleet, reinforcing a bold commitment to sustainability and modern policing. From Teslas and Lucid Airs to Chinese tech-forward EVs like Xpeng and Zeekr, the Dubai Police fleet is rapidly going green while staying luxurious, fast, and eye-catching.

So, what’s the goal behind this electric transformation? It’s simple: reduce emissions, improve operational efficiency, and showcase how smart mobility fits right into everyday law enforcement.

Why Dubai Police Is Switching to Electric Patrol Cars

Dubai’s shift to EVs is part of a bigger, city-wide plan. The police force is aligning with the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 strategy and Dubai’s Green Mobility Plan, which aims to make public and private transport more sustainable.

Police officials have also mentioned their “Zero Carbon Police Force” goal by 2030. This means phasing out traditional fuel vehicles in favor of fully electric or hybrid ones. And it’s not just about going green — it’s about smarter, cleaner, and more advanced policing.

In fact, using EVs offers practical benefits:

  • Lower fuel and maintenance costs
  • Quick acceleration and quiet operation
  • More uptime for patrol duty

This is why Dubai Police continues to expand its electric lineup. Now, let’s take a look at some of the most exciting EVs already in action.

Audi RS e-tron GT: 100 EV Patrol Cars on the Streets

In 2023, Dubai Police made a major move by adding 100 Audi RS e-tron GTs to its fleet. That’s not just a handful—it’s one of the biggest EV police deployments globally.

This luxury electric car brings:

  • 488 km of driving range
  • 800-volt fast charging
  • 0–100 km/h in under 4 seconds

That kind of speed is more than enough to handle Dubai’s highways—or to keep up with a fleeing supercar, if needed.

These cars aren’t just for show. They’re used for real traffic patrol and city-wide visibility. The addition was done with the support of Al Nabooda Automobiles, Audi’s UAE dealer, who helped deliver and prepare the fleet.

Porsche Taycan: Luxury and Power with Zero Emissions

In 2024, Dubai Police added the fully electric Porsche Taycan to its high-performance supercar fleet.

It’s not just about aesthetics (though it definitely turns heads). This electric sports car is part of a push to replace even high-speed patrol units with clean alternatives. With incredible acceleration, a sleek design, and smart features, the Taycan fits right into Dubai’s image of futuristic policing.

It patrols tourist spots, VIP events, and busy roads while silently promoting Dubai’s green goals.

Tesla Patrol Cars: From Cybertruck to Model 3 and Y

Tesla plays a big role in Dubai Police’s EV strategy.

Tesla Cybertruck

One of the most eye-catching additions is the Cybertruck, now seen in Downtown Dubai, Marina Walk, and around iconic tourist spots. Its futuristic design and rugged build make it ideal for public interaction, crowd control, and social media buzz.

Tesla Model 3 and Model Y

In late 2024, Dubai Police added two standard Tesla models for daily patrol use:

  • Model 3 – Compact and efficient
  • Model Y – Crossover with extra storage and room

Both are ideal for traffic control, response in tourist areas, and light urban patrols. They’re fast, smart, and cheap to run.

Officials say the goal is clear: faster response times and lower emissions, all while modernizing the image of the police force.

Did You Know: Why are cars in Dubai so cheap

Lucid Air Grand Touring: Long-Range EV Patrol

In October 2024, Lucid Air Grand Touring joined the Dubai Police patrol fleet.

This U.S.-made luxury EV packs over 800 horsepower and up to 700+ km of range per charge. That’s enough for long-distance highway patrol without frequent stops.

The move aligns with Dubai’s Quality of Life Strategy 2033, showing that eco-friendly cars can still deliver high performance. The car’s luxury and comfort also make it suitable for VIP escort duties and long patrol shifts.

Plus, Lucid’s Middle East expansion—with a factory in Saudi Arabia—adds a regional connection to the rollout.

Chinese EVs in Patrol Duty: Xpeng and Zeekr

Xpeng

In late 2024, Dubai Police introduced its first Xpeng electric vehicle, built by Chinese EV leader Xiaopeng Motors. The car comes equipped with:

  • Smart navigation
  • AI-powered driving assistance
  • Long-range electric battery

It’s being used for traffic patrol and rapid response in tourist-heavy zones. It’s also part of Dubai’s broader smart mobility project and was delivered through local distributor Gulf Star Motors.

Zeekr 001

Around the same time, the department added the Zeekr 001, another Chinese EV from Geely’s premium brand. With 544 hp and nearly 600 km of range, the Zeekr 001 combines luxury with raw power.

It’s designed to manage traffic and improve police presence in urban areas. Police officials highlighted its AI integration and advanced software as perfect for modern, data-driven policing.

Lotus Emeya-S: Dubai Police’s Electric Hyper Sedan

One of the most recent additions is the Lotus Emeya-S, unveiled in 2025 at the World Police Summit in Dubai.

This electric hyper-sedan features:

  • 603 horsepower
  • 0–100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds
  • 600+ km range

Not only does it deliver sports car performance, but it also does so silently and cleanly.

The Emeya-S patrols high-traffic tourist areas and makes a statement: sustainability and luxury can go hand-in-hand.

Dubai Police officials said this EV represents the future of policing — fast, smart, and green.

Electric Patrol Cars in Action

You’ll now find Dubai’s electric police cars patrolling:

  • Tourist hotspots (Downtown Dubai, JBR, Dubai Marina)
  • Major highways (Sheikh Zayed Road, Emirates Road)
  • VIP and diplomatic events
  • Community festivals and city exhibitions
  • Traffic enforcement zones

These EVs are highly visible and designed to increase public engagement while delivering real law enforcement duties.
